It is based on the Wiznet W5100 ethernet chip providing a network (IP) stack capable of both TCP and UDP. The Arduino Ethernet Shield supports up to four simultaneous socket connections.

The onboard micro-SD card slot can store files for serving over the network. It is compatible with Arduino Uno and Mega (using the Ethernet library). You can access the onboard SD card slot using the SD library, which is included in the current Arduino build.

Arduino communicates with the W5100 and SD card using the SPI bus (through the ICSP header). This is on digital pins 11, 12, and 13 on the Uno and pins 50, 51, and 52 on the Mega. On both boards, pin 10 is used to select the W5100, and pin 4 for the SD card. These pins cannot be used for general I/O. On the Mega, the hardware SS pin 53 is not used to select either the W5100 or the SD card, but it must be kept as an output, or the SPI interface won't work.

Note that because the W5100 and SD card shares the SPI bus, only one can be active simultaneously. If you are using both peripherals in your program, this should be taken care of by the corresponding libraries. If you're not using one of the peripherals in your program, however, you'll need to deselect it explicitly. To do this with the SD card, set pin 4 as an output and write a high. For the W5100, set digital pin 10 as a high output.

The shield provides a standard RJ45 ethernet jack. Requires an Arduino Board (not included)

Compatible with the Arduino line of products. Trademark registrations throughout the world for ARDUINO or Arduino® are owned by: Arduino AG and Arduino SA.

Features:

Operating voltage 5V (supplied from the Arduino Board)

Ethernet Controller: W5500 with internal 32K buffer

Connection speed: 10/100Mb

Connection with Arduino on SPI port

Specifications:

Resources

Datasheet

Libraries

Sample Code

Tutorial

Compatible with the Arduino line of products. Trademark registrations throughout the world for ARDUINO or Arduino® are owned by: Arduino AG and Arduino SA.

Arduino UNO Prototype Shield is used in cases where you want to build more applications without using any external Breadboard. We worked hard to design an inexpensive, yet sophisticated design. Not only is it easy to assemble and customize, also equipped with extensive documentation and libraries. You can get fast - to save the data to a file in any FAT16 or FAT32 formatted SD card, you can read any drawing, spreadsheet or analysis program. We even have an example of how to use two free software programs to plot your data tutorials Including real-time clock with the current time stamp for all the data so that you know exactly what happened when! Please note that this item does not come with an arduino (you need to use the shield), or SD card. It does have the RTC battery, however. Now, the geology of fire to all components of the welding and testing, but not installed head. You need some basic soldering skills to put it together, but even if you do not have much experience, you can get it within 15 minutes to complete SD card interface with FAT16 or FAT32 formatted card. 3.3V level shifter circuit to prevent damage to your SD card Real-time clock (RTC) to maintain the time, even when the arduino is unplugged.
