Application & Usage Guidelines

  • Design Considerations: The capacitor's life depends on ambient temperature, humidity, applied voltage, and discharging currents. Typical guaranteed durability is 1000 hours at 70°C and up to 16,000 hours at 30°C.
  • Polarity & Voltage: The capacitor is polarized. Do not apply reverse or AC voltage, or exceed the rated voltage to prevent damage or failure.
  • Ripple Currents: Due to higher internal resistance, this capacitor is not suitable for high ripple current applications.
  • Temperature & Humidity: Operating temperature should be within specified limits; lower temperatures extend lifespan. Avoid exposure to high humidity beyond recommended conditions.
  • Series Connection: When connecting in series, include bleeder resistors to balance voltage distribution.
  • Soldering & Mounting: Follow proper soldering guidelines to prevent damage. Avoid excessive heat and mechanical stress during installation.
  • Electrolyte & Sleeve: Contains electrolyte, which can leak and damage circuit boards. The external sleeve is non-insulating and should not be used in environments requiring electrical insulation.
