Ask AI about this product

A little buzzing motor, for any haptic feedback project. These vibe motors are tiny discs, completely sealed up so they're easy to use and embed.

Two wires are used to control/power the vibe. Simply provide power from a battery or microcontroller pin (red is positive, blue is negative) and it will buzz away. Works from 2V up to 5V, higher voltages result in more current draw but also a stronger vibration. Recommended voltage of operation is 3V

If you want to reduce the current draw/strength (for example, to control it directly from an Arduino pin) try putting a resistor (100 to 1000 ohms) in series.

How do I connect and power the motor?
It has two wires, red is positive and blue is negative. Connect to a supply of 2 to 5 volts and it will buzz.
What voltages does the motor support and how does voltage affect vibration?
It operates from 2V to 5V. Higher voltages draw more current and produce stronger vibration, with 3V recommended.
Can I drive it directly from an Arduino or microcontroller pin, and is a resistor needed?
Yes you can drive it directly from a microcontroller pin. To reduce current draw or control strength, place a resistor in series from 100 to 1000 ohms.
Is the motor sealed and suitable for embedding in projects?
The motor is tiny and completely sealed, making it easy to embed in projects.
What documentation and support are available for this product?
Technical documentation and support are available from ThinkRobotics.
