CarbonX Nylon 6+CF

Gen 3 CarbonX PA6+CF filament is formulated using a PA6 copolymer reinforced with high-modulus carbon fiber. This filament is ideal for anyone that desires a structural component with high modulus, improved chemical and thermal resistance, excellent surface quality, and ease of printing. Gen3 has higher HDT than our previous grades (147C at .45MPa) allowing for expanded use in higher-temp applications. Unparalleled rigidity gives designers the properties they need to make their 3D printed parts with less material and save weight without sacrificing stiffness.

Ā

Benefits of CarbonX Nylon 6+CF

Excellent printability

High tensile strength and rigidity

Abrasion and wear resistance

Improved chemical resistance over traditional 3D printing materials

High thermal properties

This product contains 500 grams of filament.Ā
2.85mm and 1KG Available on order only. (Lead time: <7 days)

Ā

Specifications

1.75mm and 2.85mm +/- 0.05mm in diameter

Ā

Print Recommendations

Extruder: 240-270°C

Bed Temp: 80-110°C

Nozzle: We currently recommend aĀ hardened steel nozzleĀ with a minimum diameter of 0.4mm

Other: Ideal layer height is 60% of nozzle diameter. We do not recommend printing layers smaller than 0.2mm with carbon fiber reinforced filaments.

Bed Prep:Ā Magigoo Bed Prep AdhesiveĀ gives us the best results

Heated Chamber: Not required, but a heated chamber between 30-80°C allows for superior layer bonding and mechanical properties

Supports: Water-solubleĀ AquaTek X1 USMĀ works great for complex parts.

Drying Instructions: 90°C for 4 hours

Ā

What filament diameters and weights are available?
The listed diameters are 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm. The standard package is 500 grams, and 1 kg reels with 2.85 mm diameter are available on order with lead time under 7 days.
What are the recommended print settings for this filament?
Extruder temperature 240 to 270 degrees Celsius, bed temperature 80 to 110 degrees Celsius. Use a hardened steel nozzle with a minimum diameter of 0.4 mm. Ideal layer height is 60 percent of the nozzle diameter and do not print layers smaller than 0.2 mm.
Are there any special requirements for printing or bed prep?
Printing does not require a heated chamber, but a chamber between 30 and 80 degrees Celsius can improve layer bonding. Magigoo Bed Prep Adhesive provides the best bed adhesion, and water soluble AquaTek X1 USM is recommended for complex supports.
What properties make this filament suitable for rigid and strong parts?
It is a PA6 copolymer reinforced with carbon fiber, offering high modulus and rigidity, good tensile strength, abrasion resistance, improved chemical resistance, and high thermal properties. The Gen3 grade also has a higher heat deflection temperature.
Are there any special drying instructions or handling notes?
Dry the filament at 90 degrees Celsius for 4 hours before use.
