Tutorial
What is the SimonK ESC and what firmware does it use?
It is an electronic speed controller flashed with SimonK OpenSource Firmware to deliver fast throttle response and a locked in feel. It is suitable for quads up to 2.5 kg and octos up to 5 kg and does not overheat or lock out like some other SimonK flashed ESCs.
What battery voltages are supported across the variants?
The range includes models for 2-3S operation such as the 10A, 12A and 15A variants, as well as models for 2-4S and 2-6S, including OPTO variants. OPTO models do not provide a BEC and must be powered from the receiver or flight controller.
How are the motor leads connected on these ESCs?
The ESC motor leads are reduced to simple bullet connectors for quick and clean installation inside a multi rotor.
What is the difference between OPTO and non OPTO variants?
OPTO variants require power from the receiver or flight control and do not have a BEC. Non OPTO variants include a BEC and can provide 5V power to other components.
How do I choose the right variant for my build?
Select a variant based on your motor current needs and the voltage you will run. The line covers from 10A to 80A with 2-3S to 2-6S operation and includes both OPTO and non OPTO options.
