As a research scholar at a Central Govt. funded institute, our experience with ThinkRobotics has been deeply disappointing. For a project work and lab experiment and demonstration, we got quotation on Aug 2025 for components for ROS (Robot Operating System) enabled custom drone. From our purchase section we got approval on Sep 2025 for purchasing 2 sets with thier quotation. But our institute payment terms, the payment will be made after delivery for a purchase under 2.5 Lakhs category through Local Purchase Committee. Due to this conflict the order dispatch got delayed, thinkrobotics started the dispatch after only 30 % Advance Payment. Once the available products were ready for shipment they demanded remaining amount to be settled for the shipment. we tried with our purchase section for full payment, due to Inst. norms, we were unable to pay fully. then after a very long period of continous mails thinkrobotics agreed to send the products in a partial like the products worth for the advance payment. This March 2026 only the partial order is get delivered in that order only one pair or propellor only there , there is no battery without all the essential components we were now not able to asseble the custom drone. we are still waiting the response from thinkrobotics for the remaing products. Atleast if they provided a Proforma Invoice, with that we will try to release the payment from the purchase section. thinkrobotics are not ready to bend thier delivery policy, even as a central institue we were ready to bend the rules and paid the 30% amount against the institute policy. Very disappointed with the selection of this vendor for our custom drone purchase.
