The HX711 IC load cell module allows you to easily read load cells to measure weight. By connecting the amplifier to your microcontroller you will be able to read the changes in the resistance of the load cell, and with some calibration you’ll be able to get very accurate weight measurements. This can be handy for creating your own industrial scale, process control or simple presence detection.
HX711 is a specially designed IC for the high precision electronic scale design with two analog input channels.
Load cells are specially shaped metal parts that have strain gauges glue to them. The strain gauges are resistors that change their resitance when they are bent. When the metal part bends, the resistance of the load cell changes (the HX711 measures this small change in resistance accurately).
