Ask AI about this product

This high-torque standard servo now comes in a metal-gear flavor, for extra-high torque (10 kg-cm!) and reliability! It can rotate at least 180 degrees (90 in each direction) with a classic 1.5-2.5ms pulse. You can use any servo code, hardware or library to control these servos.Ā

To control with an Arduino, we suggest connecting the orange control wire to pin 9 or 10 and using the Servo library included with the Arduino IDE.Ā Position "0" (1.5ms pulse) is middle, "90" (~2ms pulse) is all the way to the right, "-90" (~1ms pulse) is all the way to the left.

The default servo pulse widths (usually 1ms to 2ms) may not give you a full 180 degrees of motion. In that case, check if you can set your servo controller to custom pulse lengths and try 0.75ms to 2.25ms. You can try shorter/longer pulses but be aware that if you go too far you could break your servo!

NOTE: Operating servos close to or at stall torque reduces their life and will permanently damage them beyond repair.

What is the torque and voltage rating of this servo and what speeds can be expected?
Stall torque is 10 kg-cm at 4.8V and 12 kg-cm at 6V, with speeds of 0.23 sec per 60 deg at 4.8V and 0.2 sec per 60 deg at 6V.
How do I connect and control it with an Arduino?
Connect the orange control wire to pin 9 or 10 and use the Servo library in the Arduino IDE; it supports any servo code or library.
Can it rotate a full 180 degrees and how can I adjust the pulse lengths to achieve this?
The servo can rotate at least 180 degrees (90 in each direction) with a 1.5 to 2.5 ms pulse; if your controller allows custom pulses try 0.75 to 2.25 ms.
What are the physical and electrical specifications and what is included in the package?
Weight is 55 g, dimensions are 40.7 by 19.7 by 42.9 mm, metal gear, 32 cm servo wire, and servo arms and screws are included; operating voltage 4.8 to 6.6 V.
What should I avoid to extend the life of the servo?
Operating near stall torque reduces life and can permanently damage the servo; avoid prolonged stall and extreme pulse lengths beyond recommended ranges.
